Newlyweds updated their Facebook statuses in the middle of their wedding ceremony

At some point each week, we all have to breathe a collective sigh at the way the world is going. We’ve had people eating laundry detergent, jumping out of moving cars, doing their makeup with the bottom of shoes and now this.

The “peak millennials” went viral after Facebook group “That’s It, I’m Wedding Shaming” posted the image on their page which targets bizarre weddings. Shared with the caption: “Instead of doing a unity candle or sand ceremony, Danielle and James changed their Facebook statuses to married,” the image shows a couple updating their Facebook statuses mid-way through their ceremony.

Obviously, the post’s commenters were less than amused by the spectacle with one saying, “This isn’t cute or quirky. It’s ridiculous.”

Another had deep concerns for the couple’s next statuses, “If that’s indicative of how their marriage is going to be, I expect they’ll be updating their statues real soon.”

A third person said, “This is what the world has come to?! I’m giving up on society.”

Me too. Me. Too.
