The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have big plans for their charitable foundation. As they look forward to this new venture, working towards replacing their ‘Sussex Royal’ brand, the couple has revealed the name for this project, ‘Archewell.’
‘Arche’ comes for ‘Archie,’ the name of their son which translates to source of action in Greek. The couple said in a statement, “Like you, our focus is on supporting efforts to tackle the global COVID-19 pandemic but faced with this information coming to light, we felt compelled to share the story of how this came to be. Before SussexRoyal, came the idea of ‘Arche’—the Greek word meaning ‘source of action.’ We connected to this concept for the charitable organization we hoped to build one day, and it became the inspiration for our son’s name.”
‘Archewell’ will also come with a new website that will share “education and training materials via films, podcasts and books.”
Further details about ‘Archewell’ were not revealed as they’re both waiting to make an announcement only when the time is right. Even the name of their new charity was supposed to be kept a secret, but reporters from The Telegraph found the documents at the U.S Patent and Trademark Office, forcing Harry and Meghan to make the announcement.
The couple is currently under self-isolation in their new home in L.A.
