There is no denying that the definition of normal has been reinvented due to coronavirus. But that doesn’t mean that entertainment needs to cease. Starting from July 1, Sharjah will host its own drive-in theatre.
Located in Madar at Aljada, the drive-in cinema will be free of cost and based on first come first-served basis. The district, which opened back in February, is a family attraction that contains several activities such as an events hall, children’s adventure zone, amphitheatre and a skatepark.
Movies in Sharjah will screen every day at 8 pm, and can accommodate up to 150 cars. Each car will be allocated a car park space and its passengers will be given a radio frequency to tune in to. A variety of 17 different food outlets is available for all those attending in the complex. This concept is being launched in collaboration with Urban Entertainment, a Dubai-based company.
“Movie Nights at Aljada is a significant addition to the list of attractions on offer at Madar at Aljada, and it is also our way of thanking the Sharjah community for its strength and resilience during these exceptionally challenging times,” Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, chairman of Arada, said.
