As reported by Arabian Business, White Jeddah has been shut down before seeing the light of day on Thursday, 13th June.
American singer Ne-Yo, who was set to be the performing act for White Jeddah’s opening night, took to Twitter to inform and apologize to fans who had come out to see the singer live.
The White brand, which has venues in Dubai and Beirut, seems to have deleted its account off Instagram. However, upset attendees did take to the Facebook page to express their anger.
The alcohol-free lounge on Jeddah Waterfront was “not licensed” in “violation of legal proceedings”, according to a tweet by the Saudi General Authority for Entertainment. It also said that the license attained was for a different event, and that the company was committing “unacceptable violations”.
Tickets to the event were priced between 500 to 1000 Saudi Riyals.
