Simon Cowell speaks out after being hospitalized

The ‘America’s Got Talent’ judge injured his back on Saturday night after being in a bike accident at his home.

“Simon had a fall from his bike on Saturday afternoon whilst testing his new electric bike in the courtyard at his house in Malibu with his family,” Variety reported. “They operated overnight, the surgery went well, and he is in the hospital recovering,” a spokesperson for Cowell said.

After a five hour surgery where he ““had to have a number of fusions and metal rod put into his back.”, Cowell has spoken for the first time time, thanking the medical team at the L.A. hospital where he was admitted. “Some good advice… If you buy an electric trail bike, read the manual before you ride it for the first time. I have broken part of my back. Thank you to everyone for your kind messages,” Cowell tweeted, “And a massive thank you to all the nurses and doctors. Some of the nicest people I have ever met. Stay safe everyone.”

Due to this incident, Cowell will have to miss the first two live shows of America’s Got Talent.
