The U.K. government has announced the easing of the 14-day travel quarantine rule for some special stars such as Tom Cruise and his crew who are looking to resume filming for the new Mission Impossible chapter. Instead, these people will have to live and work in “bubbles” that will include only accommodation and filming locations.
As an attempt to pump in investments in the country, the U.K. has published its safety protocols for production sites.
Culture Secretary Oliver Dowden said: “The world’s biggest blockbusters and high-end TV shows are made in Britain. Our creativity, expertise and highly successful tax reliefs for our screen industries means that we are an in demand location that in turn delivers a great return for our economy.” “We want the industry to bounce back and exempting small numbers of essential cast and crew from quarantine is part of our continued commitment to getting cameras rolling safely again,” he added.
This move comes after Dowden has a conversation with Tom Cruise himself about what resuming the film production for his film will entail. Both the seventh and the eighth installment of the series is currently under production.
