Lori Loughlin will serve two months in jail over admissions scam

If you have been following Lori Laughlin’s case over the admissions scandal, you know that this incident has been stretched out for as long as we can remember. Now, a verdict has been announced and the Fuller House actress Lori Loughlin is set to serve two months in jail as punishment.

Loughlin, who had paid bribes to get her daughters into the University of Southern California, pleaded guilty back in May. The new sentence comes as part of her plea deal where the actress will pay an additional fine of $150,000 and also serve two years of supervised release. Furthermore, Loughlin has to complete 100 hours of community service. Her husband, Mossimo Giannulli has been sentenced to five months of jail time.

Speaking to the court over Zoom, Loughlin said, “I thought I was acting out of love for my children, but in reality it only undermined and diminished my daughters’ accomplishments,” further stating that she had been “swayed from my moral compass.”

In response to this, Judge Nathaniel Gorton said that the actress had been living a “fairytale life.” He added, “You stand before me a convicted felon. For what?” he asked. “For the inexplicable desire to grab for more.”
