In the midst of dueling videos purporting to show how many folds Motorola’s new foldable Razr phone can take, another video (above) is here to show us how durable the new phone is beyond just the hinge.
After all, durability is a big issue when you’re dropping $1,500 on a phone. Based on JerryRigEverything’s video, the new Razr actually can take a bit of the abuse you’re sure to put yours through. But there’s plenty of reasons to be careful, just as Motorola has asked.
The metal frame seems pretty darn sturdy as does that much-debated hinge. But there are issues: Jerry finds his Razr doesn’t completely fold flush as promised by Motorola, which leaves plenty of space for dust or other small flecks of detritus to sneak in and scratch the screen.
But the toughest test Jerry subjects his Razr to — bending it backwards — is unlikely to occur in the real world, as long as you remember to fold your Razr back up before leaving it alone on the couch.
