Amidst the coronavirus pandemic, there is so much that we are missing: birthdays, proms, celebrations, anniversaries, and most important to some students heading to the end of their education, graduation ceremonies.
This is why Facebook is coming to class of 2020’s rescue. The social media platform will celebrate graduating seniors with a live-streaming event that will see Oprah as the commencement speaker.
But the list does not end here. All set to make appearances are Miley Cyrus, who will perform her hit single for her early days, “The Climb,” and celebrities that include Jennifer Garner, Awkwafina, Lil Nas X and Olympic champion gymnast Simone Biles. Some more names are reported to add on to the list in the coming weeks.
The ceremony, which will take place on May 15, can be viewed on Instagram and Facebook and 2 p.m. ET. As per Facebook, the event will be giving out special shout outs to schools and colleges, and feature videos and photos from principals and deans all over the U.S.
